The Standard Residences in Midtown Draws Two Major Restaurant Concepts Ahead Of Opening

Miami’s first Standard-branded residential development is keeping with their brand standard of unexpected fun in chic environments with two surprise culinary concepts inking deals in the Midtown Miami project.

The two Miami-based concepts are both household names in their own right and both are currently in expansion mode.

The Standard Rooftop and Juvia Group

Until recently, rooftop dining was synonymous with Juvia Group. Their iconic rooftop eatery at 1111 Lincoln Road, perched atop the Herzog & de Meuron-designed garage in Miami Beach offered some of the best views in the city from an unexpected location. Who would have thought a parking garage could be so chic?

After nearly a decade in the limelight, Juvia shuttered suddenly. Before we could get over our shock of the closing, owners Jonas and Alexandra Millán announced that this was not a goodbye, it was a “see you later” and they would return in a new location.

Fast forward to today, and the future plans are revealed. Juvia has partnered with Rosso Development and Standard Hotels to operate the rooftop lounge at Standard Residences in Midtown Miami under the new Solana concept.

About Solana by Juvia Group

Solana is set to be incorporated in the landscaped rooftop pool area with over 6,000 square feet of food and beverage space near the relaxed and sophisticated pool area. There will be a street entrance for restaurant patrons who are non-guests of the development with a private elevator to the roof.

The menu is Riviera-inspired cuisine and cocktails in a relaxed “South of France-esque” environment according to Eater Miami.

Street-Level Hidden Gem

Anyone who has spent any time in Miami knows our infatuation with bakeries. Rosetta Bakery has quickly risen to the pinnacle of gourmet options in this category, with its signature Italian sidewalk cafe and “live menu”, a showcase of freshly baked creations prepared behind a glass partition.

The Midtown Miami location in the Standard will be the brand’s eighth outpost in the area and will offer sidwalk cafe staples such as classic croissants, artisanal sandwiches, pastries and gourmet pizzas.

What is different, new and unexpected is the introduction of Rosetta’s new hidden speakeasy!

Adding to the comfortable cafe will be a lounge-style area as well as an expansive outdoor terrace is a hidden speakeasy called Privato by Rosetta. The dedicated private lounge experience offers live DJ performances, craft cocktails and will an amazing option for first dates, starting a night out, evening happy hours and more.

“Tommaso (the owner of Rosetta Bakery) and his team have elevated the cafe experience into an art form, perfecting Italian patisserie, culture, and craft cocktails. Together, we want to create a spot that will be the first place in the morning where residents at The Standard can visit for coffee adn croissants and the last place at night where they can linger and enjoy a Negroni or Bellini in good company,” said developer Carlos Rosso in a statement.

Notes About Rosso Development and The Standard

The Standard Residences Midtown is not only the residential debut of the iconic Standard Hotel’s brand, it is also developer Carlos Rosso’s debut as a solo developer. With that being said, neither are strangers to this space.

Prior to operating Rosso Development, Carlos was the President of the Condo Division for Related Group, overseeing thousands of new condominium units to be built and delivered in the Miami area. I have personally been impressed by his vision and ability to activate areas of neighborhoods that were previously underutilized, and he does this with such passion and enthusiasm.

One of his notable contributions to the skyline is in Brickell, which was once a sleepy area in the evenings and bustling epicenter of business during the daylight hours. The foresight of Rosso and Jorge Perez brought us towers such as Brickell Heights, SLS Lux, SLS Brickell and Icon Brickell, each of which has served to change the neighborhood to the walkable 24-hour epicenter that it is today.

I was so pleased to hear his departure from Related Group was not a retirement, it was an expansion and to have his debut solo project with a creative and passionate brand such as The Standard brings substantiated synergy that will only continue throughout the life of the tower.
